"Welcome to InterNational Rail Enquiries"

1 September, 2006Oli Barrett

I spent yesterday afternoon at a wedding in Henley and had to hop on and off a couple of trains.

Depending on when you call National Rail Enquiries, you'll get through to either;

Someone in Rotheram, South Yorkshire

or

Someone in Mumbai, India.

Yesterday I spoke to people in both locations.

Can anyone say WHY National Rail Enquiries would have operations in both countries and not just use the one location which made the most sense? (by the way, at midnight, I was connected to Rotheram...)

Thoughts appreciated!
